Met two very good friends Paul and Gill who I remain friends with to this day.

Toronto was very different in those days.  Indian and Pakistan's population was about 200.  No Indian culture in sight.  Clair came to Toronto and we got married on October 8, 1968.  My friends Majumdar, Kalyani, Sur and Raj got us married.  Went to Niagara falls for our honeymoon.   Received our marriage certificate from a buddist temple in Toronto.

I became a registered professional Engineer of Ontario in 1969.  Received my Iron Ring ( http://www.ironring.ca ) in a ceremony from Chapter one, University of Toronto.

On March 18, 1970, Ronok Kumar, my son was born.  My mother-in-law came to visit us from Nova Scotia.  This was a happy occasion in our lives.

During this time I was hired by our competition, Croven Ltd, in whitby as Manager, Filter Division.

November 1973, purchased our first home situated in Oshawa, Ontario.  Our daughter, Bonita was born on November 14, 1973 and our lives couldn't be more complete.

(Bonita's first day home with big brother Ronok)

1974 - I was invited to present a paper in the international symposium on Frequency Control and Selection devices, organized by US Army headquarters in New York.

My Paper was on "An explicit expression for the design of TCXO/RCXO".  I became quite known in the field.  I attended this symposium almost every year.  Here are the 3 presidents, CR Snelgrove, Croven and my company Crystech Company LTD.

1975 - Croven moved to U.S and I started my company, Crystech, with a few employees in Markham.  My products were crystal oscillators, filters, synthesizers, switch mode power supplies, transreceivers and sensor devices.

1977- Invented the automatic Swizzle stick for detecting empty containers.  Patent pending.

Invented remote control security  mirror for children’s security at home.

1982 - Sold home in Oshawa and purchased a new home in Markham.

Designed, developed and manufactured a line of satellite receivers and captured a Toronto Market.  This article was published in electronic age about my design.

But this market was quickly moved into high tech miniaturized version of automated pizza dish type with coded channel selecting card.  This affected my company.

My business served customers such as Leitch Video, Scientific Atlanta, Dofasco, Xerox, Four Seasons, Ontario Hydro, CTV, and Schneider Electric.

I was overwhelmed with grief as my mother passed away in 1988.  I wasn’t able to make it back to India at this time, but through the support of my family, I made it through.

1989 – Clair, my wife, started working at Woolco , eventually purchased  by Wal-Mart.

Both Ronok and Bonita worked with Famous Players movie theatres and finished their university degrees from York University.

Ronok excelled in IT Management with many hobbies such as music, writing and traveling.  At present he is the Director of IT with a publishing company in Toronto.

Prior to that, he was Director, Systems and Development with Famous Players Head office in Toronto.  He is married and living with wife Tammie, a computer specialist in Halifax.  They have a son,  Caiden.

Bonita works with an engineering company as a data analyst.  She lives with husband Stephen, a computer specialist in Alliston, Ontario.   Their son Jaxsen was born in June 2007 and they are very happy.
